Darksiders II follows the actions of Death, one of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse, in a tale that runs parallel to the events in the original Darksiders game. This journey propels Death across an expansive game world as he tries to redeem his brother, War, the horseman blamed for prematurely starting the Apocalypse in Darksiders.

Few things are certain in life but I’m starting to think one of those things is that if there is a video game platform out there then you can bet the Darksiders franchise will be making an appearance on it. Thankfully as a huge Darksiders fan I don’t mind that these games keep finding new homes. The original Darksiders was on all of the last generation platforms and all of the current ones via the Warmastered edition. Darksiders II also was on all of the last generation platforms and then came to most of the current generation ones via the Deathinitive Edition. The Nintendo Switch was the only place so far that Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition hadn’t appeared yet but that has now been rectified as Death has made his way to Nintendo’s newest hybrid platform. The gameplay in this one though is a bit different from the first focusing more on loot which the first game didn’t really have. Other than that the game is still very much a Metroidvania style game like the first where you’ll explore open and connected areas and encounter parts you can’t get to until...

When Darksiders II sticks to the actual essentials of the main story and not its so-called Deathinitive features, it’s a solid action-adventure-RPG hybrid.
6. Thoughts on: Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition - Klardendum
Oct 26, 2018 · Darksiders II is a curious game. On one hand it's a very interesting take on action RPG/action adventure, an improvement in many ways over the original game ...
After revisiting the remaster of the first Darksiders, it was time to revisit the remaster of the second game (that was actually released before the remaster of first). It was curious to see how the developers wanted to expand the universe they’ve introduced us to in the first game and make some really curious and somewhat innovative changes to the gameplay again and the ideas put into the remastered version were pretty great as well. Though, sadly, the game, especially in this version, is also somewhat of a glitchy mess.
